From my little psychology, especially child psychology class, I have learned that children respond better to positive reinforcement and rewards, as opposed to punishment. I am no expert but from what I’ve practiced with the girls I watch, positive reinforcement, like “If you do this, we can go to the park,” instead of “if you don’t come here, we aren’t going to the park,” they listen better. It’s about giving them something, rather than taking anything away. Usually, I use candy or playing with a doll. However, there is more to offer children.
