Cardboard Moving Boxes – Should I Use Them?

blog

When moving out of a house, having the right moving boxes will be a great help in getting your items to your new location safely and with minimal stress. The kind of boxes that you choose will mean a great deal even as you pack – some are easier and more versatile while some will literally force you into a corner.

Despite the emergence of several other types of boxes and crates, cardboard moving boxes seem to have endured the test of time and survived the arrival of other more fancier and expensive boxes. And one of the main reasons for their survival is the fact that they are perceived to be cheap when compared to other types of boxes, and the fact that they are light in weight but can hold weight comfortably is another big plus for them.

Additionally due to the going green trend all over the country, cardboard vr box seem to be decreasing in popularity due to the fact that they are often not recycled and are limited to an average of three uses. All you do after you move is dump them and they will soon waste away into the earth. Cardboard boxes come in various shapes, colors, sizes and types and when moving, which makes them a popular choice for packing the many things that you need to move.

So when you decide to move why not use cardboard moving boxes. And in the going green spirit why not use recycled and old cardboard moving boxes and in the process save a lot of cash. To start your search for these boxes you can hit the local shopping center or grocer and collect unused cardboard boxes for your use, or you could go to the local recycler and get your cardboard moving boxes.

Alternatively you could get your cardboard moving boxes from a moving store and rent them or even buy some. You could also ask some of your neighbors who may be able to lend you some of their old cardboard boxes.

And when you are done with your cardboard boxes you can give them to someone else who wants to use them rather than throw them away; or you could use them as storage space in your new house-in the attic or wherever you can find space in the house. Alternatively, you could recycle them yet again and someone else will get to use them.

But be careful where you store your cardboard moving boxes so that they don’t get damp or flattened out by heavy objects – if they do you definitely won’t be able to use them again. And a word of caution; if you have very fragile things to carry, enlist the help of professional movers and get new cardboard boxes to prevent damage, and if you use old ones go green and use a lot of recyclable padding like old newspapers and clothes.

There is a much better solution to cardboard moving boxes though, and they are even more environment friendly. It’s called green moving – green plastic moving boxes that are delivered at your home. All you have to do is pack the boxes, the movers deliver to your new home, and you unpack them. They are actually far sturdier and durable than cardboard boxes and can be reused hundreds of times.
